Blessed Watercolor

Hi there Stampin' Friends!  Do you like to watercolor?  If so, the Blessed Easter stamp set is a perfect design to do just that! I separated the greeting part of the stamp from the floral image. This makes the set more versatile for me. The tulips are easy to shade and the color combinations are unlimited.  They look gorgeous in bold colors or pastels.  It's all up to the artist!  It's way too cold for the tulips in my garden to be peaking out let alone blooming.  In anticipation, I have created them on card stock!

The Framed Tulip embossing folder is the perfect background to create a frame for the little 'garden' of tulips. Coloring with the aqua painter on watercolor paper, a little spritzing with the retired spritzing tool, sponging and distressing with Jet Black Stazon, and there you have it!

The inside matte presents a beautiful place for your message!

World Card Making Day

A whole day set aside for Card Making!!! It took me most the day to get this card to come together.  I'd work a little, ponder a little, work a little more...one of those days.
I wanted to use one of my favorite stamp sets...Postcard and I also wanted to incorporate my wish for this beautiful world that was created for us to enjoy.  This is what I came up with:

Amazing Postcard

Hi there, Stampin' Friends.  I bet you are just blown away to see that I have used the Postcard stamp...AGAIN! It has definitely climbed to the top of my favorite list and a stamp I do not plan on parting with.  Today's card is for a very special man in my life whom I love with all my heart. 

This is not my 'usual style' but I really enjoyed creating it.  The elephant is stamped 3 times: once on the card base and twice on a scrap. I colored the elephant, cut it out, shaped it with a stylus, and glued it on the card base. I then colored the hat, cut it out and glued it onto the elephant.  Once again, there is dimension here that is not picked up by the camera.

Peace on Earth

Hi there, Stampin' Friends! Oh, what fun I had creating this one!! This card was inspired by Claudia Manderla.  She posted a photo on Stampin' Connection (A Stampin' Up! Demo only site...one of the many benefits of being a demonstrator) and I thought it was adorable. You may view her blog here.  Her Aug. 6th post entitled "Shabby Chic" was the beginning of my card.  I changed up the stamp sets, size of my pages, color combo and embellishments and came up with this....

No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't capture the dimension in this card. It is so different in real life.  Here are a few close ups...

                                                                   The Left Side:
 The 'globe ornament' is rounded: attached only along the outer edge with Tombow liquid glue and a dimensional in the middle of the ornament.

The pages are stamped, distressed, sponged, and connected in the middle with linen thread and they open up on both sides.

And last but not least here is a photo of the inside all decorated up too!  The Postage Stamp was created using the stamp a ma jig and the stamp "Sharing with you the Glory, Wonder, and Miracle of this Holy Season" and the Midnight Muse marker.

Frontier Postcard

Hi there, Stampin' Friends.  I have another masculine postcard to share with you today. I even added a little 'barbed wire" down the center.

I stamped the horse twice; once on the card and once on a scrap. The image on the scrap was colored using a blender pen and Soft Suede marker.  I cut the image out, used a stylus to add dimension, and then added it over the image on the card with Tombow glue.  Here is a close up:

Wisteria Wedding

Hi there Stampin' Friends!  Today's card is the Wedding Shower card.  This one was a lot of fun to create.  I started out with an idea and it took a whole new turn...but that's ok.  I really like the way it turned out.  There is a lot of texture and dimension!

Calm Christmas

Hi there Stampin' Friends!  The Holiday Catalog is full of beautiful and fun new products! Here is a sneak peak at one new stamp set: Calm Christmas.  Ordering begins Aug. 1, 2013.

Stamp Set: Calm Christmas
Card Stock: Very Vanilla
Ink: Versa Mark, Gumball Green Marker, Marina Mist
Big Shot: Framed Tulip Folder, Deco Labels Framelits
Clear embossing powder, heat tool, sponge, liquid Tombow glue

I inked the dove stamp in versa mark; colored only the branch with the Gumball Green marker; stamped onto Very Vanilla cs; covered entire image with clear embossing powder and heat set.  I cut the stamped image out using the largest Deco Label framelit and then sponged with Marina Mist; wipe off the image with a soft cloth to remove excess ink. I traced around the largest Deco Label framelit on Very Vanilla and cut it out with my scissors; mounted the two layers together.  I opened the Framed Tulip embossing folder and applied Marina Mist to the debossed side of the folder with my ink pad; placed a piece of Very Vanilla cs in the folder and ran it through the Big Shot. (It came out absolutely gorgeous) I glued the Deco layer onto the Tulip layer and then adhered the whole thing onto a Very Vanilla card base.  I just love the way this turned out.  No embellishments...but I didn't see a need for any.  It is stunning just the way it is.

Markered Silhouettes

Hi there Stampin' Friends!  I love the Stampin' Write Markers! There are so many ways you can use them...
1. color your stamped image on card stock
2. use the brush end and blender pen to color a stamped image
3. use with the Spritzer tool
4. use the writing tip to sign your card in a coordinating or matching color
5. color directly onto the stamp with your markers

Today's card uses #5.  I colored directly onto my stamp with Primrose Petals and Gumball Green Markers using the edge of the brush end.  (Don't use the tip of the brush end as it can damage the tip)  Huff on the stamp (like you would if you were going to clean your glasses) to refresh the ink and then stamp onto card stock.  You can also immediately stamp your image again to get a fainter image.  In order to get the bold image, you will need to reink your stamp with the markers.

                   Don't throw those scraps away...  Here is a matching bookmark I made with the leftovers!

Faithful Friend

One who finds a faithful friend find a treasure!  Any one who has a friend that sticks by them through thick and thin, knows the treasure this sentiment is referring to!   A soft stamped image adds a gentle touch to the main image.  The Framed Tulip and Fancy Fan embossing folders add texture and dimension!

The flower image was created by inking the stamp with Stampin' Write markers, spritzing with water and stamped onto watercolor paper.  Image was stamped three times without reinking.  The little bow was created with the ribbon/button pack from SaleABration which recently ended.

Treasure your faithful friend(s)...and don't forget to share the treasure with someone by being a faithful friend!
