Vintage Shaving Cream

Hi there, Stampin' Friends! Here is the second card I made with the 'leftover' shaving cream card stock.  There is a lot going on in this card but I am pleased with the way it turned out.

The background was created with the Very Vintage wheel.  I have 'unmounted' all of my wheels and attached the 'rubber stamp' to Clear Mount Cling Foam.  For me, it goes from being a wheel to a useable stamp!  I used the Adorning Accents Edgelits and the Adorning Accents embossing folder to create the scallops.  If you click on the photo, you can enlarge it. Click here to see how I did the shaving cream technique.  'My way' of doing this technique uses the largest clear acrylic block and a smaller block for blending the colors.

Thank you for looking!  If you feel lead to leave a comment, please do so and if you have any questions, please ask.

Altered Envelpe Box

I attended a Wedding Shower for my nephew and his bride-to-be this passed Sunday.  I wanted to give them something special and unique.  I wanted it to be something they didn't already have and definitely something they could use.  As I pondered, I thought, why not give them something that I love and something that is part of who I am. They had opened many gifts and then my gift came up on the table. My nephew took one look at the box and said, "This is from my Aunt Deen!"  Before he even opened it, he knew who had made it.  My heart overflowed with JOY.  I had already accomplished one goal...something special that is a part of me.

I took an empty envelope box, took it apart, painted it, stamped it, reassembled, decorated the top, and filled it with handmade cards and a book of stamps. I included 4 Sympathy, 4 Thinking of you, 4 Happy Birthday, and 4 Thank you cards.  I made sure to include some masculine cards also.

Here is the finished gift...

File Folder Friend

Hi there Stamping Friends!  Today's sample includes the use of a file folder...well, a piece of it anyway.  I love the 'vintage color' of the file folder.  Sometimes it's fun to step 'out of the box' and use something you normally wouldn't use when creating a card.  I started with the file folder layer...stamped the Very Vintage wheel lightly over the entire piece and built on that.  I really struggled deciding what elements to use and how to put them together.  It sat on my desk for a few days and then it came together to look like this...

and here is a close up to show some of the dimension

Thank you for looking.  Please feel free to leave a comment and if you have any questions...ask!
