Wetlands Postcard

Hi there, Stampin' Friends!  I have a masculine card to share with you.  The Canadian Goose in the Wetlands stamp set is a perfect choice.  I have paired it up with the Postcard stamp.

I used an aqua painter and reinkers to color in the goose. The background is sponged.  I was a little disappointed at first when I stamped my saying and saw the image wasn't solid.  But it only took a couple of seconds to see that it gives it a 'vintagey' look. I could have easily covered it up with a label or banner of some kind but I like the vintage appearance. A quick punch at the top adds a fun touch.  I cut the Basic Black image using the rotary addition with the Tiny Wave blade. I am really enjoying using this tool!  The blades are quick and easy to switch in and out.

Best Dad Map

Hi there, Stampin' Friends!  I have a Father's Day card to share with you today.  I created it especially for my Dad.  In my opinion, he is the Best Dad in the Whole World!  I am grateful for his unconditional love, his teaching by example, and the abundance of fond childhood memories created with my Dad!

I stamped the World Map stamp on vanilla card stock, colored it and then folded it up like you would fold a map to put in your glove box  (yes, I still use a paper map!), inked the edges and unfolded it.  It is distressed, sponged, adhered to a Marina Mist layer, and then adhered to a Early Espresso card base.  The sentiment is hand written and sponged.

Camouflage Grunge

Hi there, Stampin' Friends.  I have a 'camouflage' birthday card to share with you today.  In my attempt to create a masculine card without any camouflage stamps, Gorgeous Grunge fit the bill.  I used several different colors of ink and stamped them onto Crumb Cake card stock. The sentiment from You're Amazing was stamped onto Crumb Cake and cut out with the Apothecary Accents Framelits. I used my piercing tool and pierced two holes and threaded Linen Thread through them and mounted the layer onto a Soft Suede card base.

We had made a birthday cake to go with the card.  It was frosted with white frosting and decorated with blue frosting.  It was only fitting the 'icing on the cake' on the inside of the card should be the same as the frosting on the real cake. I stamped the cake from the Sketched Birthday stamp set onto a scrap of Whisper White with Black Stazon, colored it in with Marina Mist, Crushed Curry, and Smokey Slate, added Crystal Effects to the flame and edge of the plate. I cut the image out using the Apothecary Accent framelits; left the white card stock in the framelit, placed it on a scrap of Crumb Cake, traced around it, removed the framelit, cut the base layer out and adhered the two layer together. The added sentiments were stamped with Soft Suede ink.

Masculine Postcard

Hi there, Stampin' Friends!  I am loving the new Postcard stamp and there are lots of ideas running through my head for future creations.   I stuck with monochromatic on this card and really like the way it turned out.

The Very Vanilla layer opens up so you can add a greeting. The Soft Suede is a single layer cut at 4 1/4" X 5 1/2".
